Electronic Recycling

Recology Ashland Sanitary Service Electronic / Universal Waste Effective January 1, 2010, the State of Oregon prohibited the disposal of computers, monitors and televisions into the trash. These materials are health and environmental hazards if they are improperly disposed of.
Thanks to a special partnership between Recology Ashland Sanitary Service, Rogue Disposal and ECS Regenesys, electronics are accepted at the Valley View Transfer Station free of charge!

Bring your computers, monitors, TV's, printers, keyboards, mouse/mice, VCRs, FAXs, and DVD players. You can bring any kind of electronics - even stereos, blenders, microwaves, shavers, and electric toothbrushes. They will be responsibly regenerated back into raw materials for new products. Nothing is put into a landfill or shipped to Asia.

In this free statewide program, Oregonians may drop off up to seven items per day. If you have more, contact our office and make arrangements ahead of time. Premium home pickup service is also available for a charge.

NO TV's or PC monitors with broken screens. They are hazardous waste.

Compact Fluorescent & Fluorescent Bulbs and Tubes

Fluorescent Light Bulbs FAQFluorescent lights contain mercury and don't belong in the trash. Please recycle them and keep mercury out of the environment. Residential customers can bring up to 3 fluorescent light tubes or compact fluorescent bulbs to the Ashland Recycling Center (Water Street) per visit.

Commercial Customers take material to the
Valley View Transfer Station.

Special thanks to the Conservation Commission for its generous contribution to help keep residential recycling of CFL's free!

Keep in mind:
Using one compact fluorescent bulb eliminates the need to burn 110 pounds of coal to generate electricity. It also prevents 450 pounds of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from reaching the atmosphere and contributing to climate change. -from 18seconds.org
