Compact Fluorescent & Fluorescent Bulbs and Tubes

Fluorescent Light Bulbs FAQFluorescent lights contain mercury and don't belong in the trash. Please recycle them and keep mercury out of the environment. Residential customers can bring up to 5 fluorescent light tubes or compact fluorescent bulbs to the Ashland Recycling Center (Water Street) per visit.

Commercial Customers take material to the
Valley View Transfer Station.

Special thanks to the Conservation Commission for its generous contribution to help keep residential recycling of CFL's free!

Keep in mind:
Using one compact fluorescent bulb eliminates the need to burn 110 pounds of coal to generate electricity. It also prevents 450 pounds of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from reaching the atmosphere and contributing to climate change. -from 18seconds.org
